Established in 1978 by Mustafa Aslankaya and partners, Marmara Plastik has secured its position as the leader in Turkey's rope and twine industry, boasting the largest production capacity in its field. Operating out of a modern facility in Esenyurt, the company produces high-quality equipment for the fishing, agriculture, packaging, and maritime sectors in compliance with ISO 9001-2015 standards.
The company, which dominates the domestic market, has also firmly established itself in international markets through a strategy of continuous technological upgrades and capacity expansion.
A timeline of industrial growth
The company's journey began with the production of raffia rope in 1978. By 1981, operations moved to a new facility in Topkapi, marking the start of polypropylene rope and twine manufacturing. The drive for modernization continued in 1992 with a move to a 2,500-square-meter facility in Halkalı, where new technologies were integrated into the production line.
A major milestone was reached in 2005 when Marmara Plastik relocated to its current massive facility in Esenyurt Kıraç, covering 14,500 square meters of closed area equipped with the latest technology.
Strategic investments and global reach
Marmara Plastik’s expansion into global trade began in 1997 with its first "Roblon" machine investment, which enabled continuous rope production and facilitated the company's first export. Since then, the company has consistently invested in advanced machinery to diversify its portfolio:
-
2010: An extruder investment increased total production capacity by 50%.
-
2013: The launch of the Danline Extrusion line opened new export markets for these specific products.
-
2018: Investment in state-of-the-art machinery enabled the production of 8-strand ropes.
-
2019: The company began manufacturing braided ropes following investments in HDPE Extrusion, HDPE Net Twine, and braiding machines.
Today, the company produces fibrillated, soft, and durable products that are resistant to unravelling and feature even twists. Every product undergoes 100% quality control before shipment, with custom options available for color and thickness based on client requirements.
